Cooper's Bakehouse works with volunteers who generously give their time to the bakery in return for an opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills.
After a taster session, volunteers usually commit to a three or six month period during which they'll typically join us for one shift each week.
Whilst some volunteers join us for an early morning shift, most gain their experience on our Friday afternoon/evening bake.
If you're interested in volunteering, please send us an email or call.
All of our bakers came to Cooper's Bakehouse without commercial baking experience and learned their skills alongside our old hands. We encourage our bakers to mix their baking with another job to break the routine of early mornings and tough sleep patterns.
If you're interested in baking with us, please email a CV and short covering letter and we'll get in touch next time we're recruiting.
Most of our bakers also work as cyclists; delivering our bread to homes, shops and cafes. We need more cyclists than bakers so we also employ extra cyclists every day to get the bread out.
If you're an experienced cyclist and could do with about five extra hours' work each week, please do email a short covering letter and your CV.
Our cyclists are paid the London Living Wage plus holiday pay.
We recruited new cyclists in July 2017; there are no remaining vacancies.
